The Medieval Fortress of Krogen (1420's)
In the 1420's, the current King of Denmark, Erik of Pomerania decided to build the Kronborg Castle. The castle was built at this location because Erik had just imposed customs duties on all ships passing through the Oresund passage. The location of the castle on the most North-West parcle of Danmark land made it the perfect building location for the Kronborg Castle.
